We had a wonderful experience at the ice castles in Lake Geneva. This was our first visit to this location of the ice castles and it was a joy to experience. It may have been the timing of our tickets, at 8pm, but we were very happy with the amount of people there, even though we did have to wait a short amount of time for photos at a few of the attractions and for the slide but especially towards the end of the night we were able to do the slides back to back. From age 5 to 40, we all had fun on the slides and walking around checking out the structure. There were 3 slides, a smaller ice slide, a longer ice slide with mats you sit on as you go down, and a medium sized ice slide that goes a bit faster than the others. They were all a lot of fun. There was also tunnel for the kids to crawl through and a couple ice sculptures and seats made of ice. There are also concession stands at the entrance and exit of the castles. We didn't partake in these but we did get our picture taken when we first arrived and when we went to look at the photos and decide whether or not to buy them the price was a factor. The associate told us the price was $30 or $35 for one photo or $50 for two. That seemed pretty steep, especially when we took many of our own photos ourselves so it was fine but we would have been more inclined to purchase a photo if the price point was lower. The souvenirs were cute but it would have been nicer if it had "Lake Geneva" in addition to the Ice Castles name and logo. Again, overall, the actual experience of the ice castle itself was very fun and unique.
It was an hour and a half drive for me to get here but well worth it. You can run through the whole experience fairly quickly if you want. I recommend people not dressing for severe cold do just that in fact. It was COLD! But this is a very unique experience and well worth the price of admission. Especially if you live close. Definitely wait to go at night. Its a bit colder then but the lights are truly beautiful.
Incredible place. We had a great time at ice castle. Best time to visit is evening. A lot of lights and amazing effects.
First time visiting the Ice Castles. Visited last weekend drove 2.5 hours worth every minute. Its surreal, lose yourself in the lights and bright stars above. Take your time and take it all in. Photo ops are plentiful, check in process swift and easy, walking within castle floor is like walking on large loose gravel. We encountered one very small paper plate size slippery spot. Dress appropriately, we had snow pants, winter boots, etc., hand & foot warmers were nice to have. Don't miss the ice slide, mats provided. Wonderful experience!
We were so amazed by the ice castles. The slides are the best. First ever ice slide. It was super cold sunny day 🌞 . I would highly recommend having warmers in the boots, irrespective of the gear your feet will get cold in 30min. I recommend going around sunset time, you can enjoy sun time & night lights. A must go !! …
Great place to visit with the family. We are still trying to figure out how they made it. So cool to see at night with the led lights. There are slides made of ice the kids will enjoy.. there is alps a maze that is cool. Definitely a place you have to see once in your life.. If you stay on property you can ice skate, go sledding and snow hike for free.
Valentine's weekend in Ice Castles feels like Iceland. White, snowy, Icy, Cloudy, winter land.
Located in Williams Bay of Lake Geneva is quite a drive from Chicago. Especially since when it was snowing a day before.
We loved every bit and piece of it. Spending 3 hours in Ice was making us feel cold, but the Adrenaline made us reliving childhood all over again. I loved this place.
Pictures will quickly explain how beautifully it is created with each detail and requirement took into consideration. Fireplaces inside the castle provide a respite from the cold due to the waiting line for the little ice slide.
Tickets are available online for 20$ per person. Please check the dates and availability as they are mostly sold out. One should eat and pee before entering the castle so that you can fully enjoy the inside.
Wear suitable, and enough winter wears along with essentials.
I highly recommend this place.
Great place to be out in winter. As everyone suggest, go for sunset time tickets so you can see the icicles in both natural light and in led lighting. Slide was the best part. Hands and feet do go numb after a while but there were 2 fire place at the entrance to warm you up. Its small compared to other 3 places in the country but its okay to visit once. The hard work they have put is immense so just appreciate that!
